The Outcome:
Broadmeadows is a Principal Activity Centre and one of 13 Transit City locations chosen by Government as priority projects. The Broadmeadows Transit City (BTC) has one of the greatest concentrations of social and economic disadvantage in Victoria. However, a significant amount of funding and work has been undertaken by the Victorian Government and Hume City Council to identify a shared vision for the revitalisation of the BTC.
As part of a multi-disciplinary consultant team led by Ernst and Young and commissioned by the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) and the Department of Transport (DOT) we prepared a Development Potential Study to analyse and identify sites with development potential in the short, medium and long term within BTC. The second stage of the project was to prepare development frameworks for four development opportunity sites within the study area. The study provided strategic and detailed planning and urban design advice in the preparation of the Development Potential Study and Development Frameworks.
