The Task:
To obtain approval for the development of a Childcare Centre at 62 North Road, Langwarrin, Victoria.
The Outcome:
The client in association with John Wall Childcare is seeking to develop the site at 62 North Road, Langwarrin, for a 65 place childcare centre. The site is approximately 1,706m2 in size, with an existing dwelling located on site. The proposal removes the existing dwelling, and develops the site with a two-storey childcare centre. Smart Planning and Design was engaged to seek planning approval and project manage, which involves a high level of collaboration to address key issues including tree retention, vehicle access, Melbourne Water assets and Aboriginal cultural heritage. Two large playscape areas have been provided, along with large verandahs to the sides of the building. This childcare centre will provide benefit to the local community, in an area earmarked for high demand for childcare. Smart Planning and Design worked closely with SALT who are experts in providing traffic and waste engineering advice for childcare centres.
